This twice-told tale is the story of the relationship which blossoms between two newspaper journalists Jon (Kevin Bacon) and Lorie (Elizabeth Perkins) who write adversarial columns for the same paper. The film's two directors (Ken Kwapis and Marisa Silver, married to each other in real life) take different angles in two separate halves.
