Vintage Matched Pair 1951 Signed Reglor of California Matador Bullfighter Table Lamps.
LOCAL PICKUP ONLY!
This is a wonderful signed pair of male and female Matador lamps made by Reglor of California.
The lamps are a beautiful addition to any room.
The lamps were manufactured July 17, 1951. Date on both is on the bottom felt.
The lamps are chalkware.
Bernie Stein and Rena Stein began Regor of California in 1947. Reglor is the combination of the names Rena and her cousin Gloria. Reglor lamps were frequently produced as a male and female pair. The distinctive shades of Reglor lamps were also made in house. Production stopped in 1975 when the Reglor factory in Montebello, California burned.
The lamps do work, however, I'd recommend replacing the electrical components, as they appear to be original and would be 70+ years old. Both have non-polarized plugs.
The shades are missing.
The colors may not be original but they seem to be. There are a few chips in the chalkware from years of use. There appear to be two larger chips that were glued back into place on the male lamp. That lamp also has some hairline cracks through the body and face. It is still firm as they are just hairline cracks. The female lamp has just chips here and there. Not all the spots you see are chips. Some small pitting is normal in chalkware.
The lamps are approximately 34" tall to the top of the finial. The base is approximately 10" x 8".
Each lamp weighs 15 lbs.
Light bulbs are not included.
