Purple top turnips are easy to grow. The roots are white in color with a purple top. Produces a large sweet root 3 to 5 inches in diameter that can be eaten raw or cooked. Tops can also be cooked like spinach or used fresh in salads. Begin harvesting when roots are 3 " across. Plant a row for the greens and another row for the roots. Also plant an early spring crop and a fall crop.
