The Spark Module is an OEM replacement part for GE gas ranges. It is responsible for generating the spark needed to ignite gas burners. Without proper ignition from the spark module, burners will be unable to light - rendering the cooktop unusable.
Causes are generally related to typical wear and tear over time. The module housing continuous high voltage electrical components that can degrade with extended use.
Symptoms of a failed spark module include:
- Burners that repeatedly fail to light or light intermittently
- Clicking sounds but no ignition when trying to light burners
- Possible small flames at the burner port instead of a steady flame
