This listing is for a healthy, beautiful, 4-6 feet tall October Glory Red Maple Tree. This tree is easy to grow, generally growing 40-50 feet tall and 35 feet wide. OUTSTANDING FEATURES:
Provides radiant orange to red color late in the fall. Shiny dark green leaves in spring and summer then turn brilliant red late in the fall and last for several weeks.
Produces tiny, red blooms in the spring.
Features simple, sparkling dark green leaves 3–6 inches in length with 3–5 lobes.
Yields seeds with red-tinged wings that are up to 1½ inches in length. The flashy fruits attract many types of Wildlife and birds.
Grows in a round shape.
The October Glory maple grows in acidic, rich, moist, sandy, loamy, silty loam, well-drained, wet, and clay soils.
Full sun and partial shade are best for this tree, therefore a minimum of four hours of direct sunlight each day.
This tree grows at a medium to fast rate growing anywhere from 13 inches to more than 24 inches per year.
This red maple cultivar was introduced by Princeton Nursery in 1961.
Cold hardy to zones 4-9. Keep soil moist until completely established, then water regularly as needed. Fertilize in spring just before new growth begins. We will wrap the roots and soil with wet paper towels, seal in a plastic bag, and ship via USPS Priority mail. When you get the plant put it in healthy soil and water everyday until it looks happy and green.
