This listing is for a VINTAGE SONY WALKMAN CASSETTE PLAYER WM-DDI, looks brand new, might have been used few times by the original purchaser. This DD walkman has been restored, so it is guaranteed to work properly.

The original black carrying case is included, but it has a thin plastic covering over the cloth around the edges and that plastic has started to peel off in tiny bits and gets sticky so you should consider rubbing it off with solvent around the edges to remove the thin layer of plastic covering before using the case, the so called rubbing alcohol (isopropyl alcohol) which can be bought from a pharmacy will do the job.

This walkman has a standard jack so many different brands of headphones can be plugged into it.

This walkman uses two standard AA size batteries for power.

The difference in price in my listings for DD walkmen of the same model is based on color and cosmetic condition. I also take sound quality into consideration when pricing them too.

PLEASE NOTE: This item has been restored, so it is guaranteed to work properly.
Type of restoration done: Rubber drive tire which is slanted was replaced with a new slanted one which I make myself as they are not possible to find,  and a rubber square belt also was replaced, after the replacements the speed was adjusted properly with Sony Professional test tape at 3000Hz. Center gear wheel is fine, no cracks in it. Aging electronic components that have liquid in them were replaced with fresh ones of exactly the same type and values, it is necessary to be done on this model to work properly, even when brand new in the box they still need to be replaced for this model to work properly. The board was also ultrasonically washed which is necessary for this model to give best performance, otherwise some frequencies on one channel might not be the same as on the other and could have other issues too due to liquid that has leaked on the board from the old parts that were replaced. Don't buy this model unless it is from someone who has restored many of this model and washes the board as well properly.

ABOUT THE RESTORATION: Why is it important for the item to be restored? If you are buying vintage electronics that were NOT restored (no matter if used or brand new sitting in the box) and the sellers state were tested and work, you should know that they don't work as good as the day they left the factory without the need of any restoration work done. You should know that it is extremely rare( 1 in 10 or 20 chance) to see a vintage item working PERFECT after sitting for some 20+ years without the need of any restoration work done. This is because rubber gets old, plastics shrink and crack, electronic components that have liquid in them won't give the same performance as freshly made ones, etc. That is why it is important to buy an item that has been checked and restored. Repair places don't do restorations but just fault finding. They just find what electronic component is causing a device to malfunction and replace that component only. This is because it takes a lot of time to restore an item and unless you ask and are ready to pay, they won't do it.
