I try to keep my shipping costs low.  Accordingly, sometimes shipping to Postal Zone 8 (primarily California, Oregon, Washington, Nevada, Idaho, Alaska & Hawaii) is not covered with the listed costs.  In those situations, I will ask you to cover the additional costs.  If shipping goes to one of those states, please contact me in advance to give you a firm calculated shipping cost. 

Please understand I am trying to keep my shipping cost low for the other regions of the country.  I would not be offering competitive shipping cost if I charged everyone the same amount as Zone 8.  Thanks for understanding this situation.
