The Whirlpool grease filter is an OEM replacement part responsible for trapping and removing grease, smoke, and odors from the air during cooking on Jenn-Air downdraft models. Located beneath the cooking surface or range, this filter is an integral component of the ventilation system. Its primary function is to capture airborne grease particles and cooking byproducts from the cooktop. The filter uses a mesh or baffle design to efficiently trap these contaminants, ensuring that the air that is recirculated or vented outside is free from grease and unwanted odors.
