Bepanthen eye drops form a sterile, preservative-free, viscoelastic transparent protective layer on the cornea. Bepanthen eye drops contain sodium hyaluronate - the sodium salt of hyaluronic acid, which, due to its properties, forms a uniform, stable and especially durable protective layer on the cornea that does not affect vision. In addition, Bepanthen eye drops contain provitamin B5 (dexpanthenol), which has the ability to strongly attract water; it simultaneously moisturizes and protects the eyes, and also enhances the water-retaining properties of sodium hyaluronate.
The combination of sodium hyaluronate (stabilizes the tear film) and dexpanthenol (moisturizes, soothes) provides protection and hydration to the eye surface.
As a result, Bepanthen Eye provides a long-lasting calming effect in the following cases:
- mechanical impact, for example, when using hard or soft contact lenses or during a diagnostic eye examination;
- environmental hazards such as air conditioning, wind, cold, dry air or air pollution such as cigarette smoke;
- eye irritation from severe visual strain, for example, when working for a long time at a computer, microscope or driving a car.
Bepanthen eye drops, which do not contain preservatives, are well tolerated even with long-term use. Bepanthen eye drops are also suitable for people who wear contact lenses. Contact lenses do not need to be removed when using eye drops.
