Poster print of Pharoah Sesostris in his richly decorated war chariot.  He's firing an arrow at something he's attacking.   And above his head hovers a large vulture - the symbol of Victory.

The illustration was painted by early French explorer, Jean-Francois Champollion. It was one of a series created by Jean-Francois and his brother Jacques-Joseph, during an expedition to the tombs in The Valley of the Kings in the early 18th century.

Jean-Francois Champollion is famous as the Egyptologist who deciphered the Rosetta Stone, making it possible to read Egyptian hieroglyphics.

The brothers documented their discoveries in Monuments de l'Egypte et de la Nubie, published in 1835 by Didot Firmin, Paris.
