Presenting an antique Royal Copenhagen memorial plate, crafted to commemorate the 40th Anniversary of King Christian IX. Designed by Arnold Krog, this piece features molded blue underglaze decoration on a white porcelain body, with a raised border accented with floral lattice and laurel leaves. The scalloped plate showcases a face-to-face monogram enclosing the years 1863 - 1903, with a crown at the crest.
This charming piece carries the Royal Copenhagen green encircled crown mark, the three wavy lines, along with the painter’s numerals 64. This pattern was issued in 1903, with production ceasing after 1200 copies were made.
In very nice condition, it exhibits minor manufacturing imperfections, as shown in the last two photos.
