    This sale is for a superb Kay Nielsen print. Kay (pronounced "kigh") Nielsen is considered one of a triumvirate of classic "great " illustrators from the golden age of illustration and gift book design during the first quarter of the 20th century.

    Kay Rasmus Nielsen (March 12, 1886 – June 21, 1957) was a brilliant Danish illustrator who was popular in the early 20th century, the "golden age of illustration" which lasted from when Daniel Vierge and other pioneers developed printing technology to the point that drawings and paintings could be reproduced with reasonable facility.

    He joined the ranks of Arthur Rackham and Edmund Dulac in enjoying the success of the gift books of the early 20th century. Nielsen is also known for his collaborations with Disney for whom he contributed many story sketches and illustrations.

    This beautiful lithograph is from a 1st edition vintage book plate published in 1977, The condition of the print is very good, vibrant and bold. Would look beautiful matted and framed, if you want to.

    The print is plain on the verso, (reverse). Comes inside a (alkali free) clear sealed polythene bag and is sent in a hard backed envelope. Genuine print book plate illustration; it is NOT a photograph or scan.

    Page size is approx: 21.5cm x 28cm (8-1/2" x 11" inches). Print size is approx: 17.5cm x 18cm (6-7/8" x 7" inches) This print has nice margins all around, making it suitable for matting and/or framing. NOT Provided.
