Vintage Antique Enamelware Graniteware Lustucru Checkered Rare Raspberry Red Coffee Pot Syrup Pitcher

Rare find.

Not a reproduction.

Vintage French enameled coffee pot with hinged lid. This shape is also sometimes classified as a syrup pitcher. VERY RARE color combination. The main color of the base is a soothing raspberry red which sets this item apart from the many pots that have the common fire engine red color on the base. See the photos in natural light for your own assessment of the color. The base is also adorned with a BLACK and white Lustucru checkered band. The color of the lid is a slightly more orange shade to complement the base color. Thin black lines and a BLACK handle round out the trimming. Appears to be a BB Freres item, circa 1920s. The sign/stamp is still visible on the bottom and indicates "B.B. 13647 Depose" along with images of a crown, shield, and leaves.

Great overall condition! See the photos.

There are only really two chips worth calling out - one on the edge of the lid and one on the edge of the base - and both are inconspicuous when the item is placed on display. To be complete, the interior white enamel has two small chips and a smattering of even smaller pepper-sized chips. Nothing major, however, and there are no penetrations through the body.

The hinge on the lid is original and is still intact and operational.
