The crawler-transporters, formally known as the Missile Crawler Transporter Facilities, are a pair of tracked vehicles used to transport spacecraft from NASA's Vehicle Assembly Building (VAB) along the Crawlerway to Launch Complex 39. They were originally used to transport the Saturn IB and Saturn V rockets during the Apollo, Skylab and Apollo–Soyuz programs. They were then used to transport Space Shuttles from 1981 to 2011. The crawler-transporters carry vehicles on the mobile launcher platforms used by NASA, and after each launch return to the pad to take the platform back to the VAB.
The two crawler-transporters were designed and built by Marion Power Shovel Company using some components designed and built by Rockwell International at a cost of US$14 million (US$128.5 million in 2022) each. Upon its construction, the crawler-transporter became the largest self-powered land vehicle in the world until it was beaten in 2013 with the production of the ultraheavy XGC88000 crawler crane. While other vehicles such as bucket-wheel excavators like Bagger 288, dragline excavators like Big Muskie and power shovels like The Captain are significantly larger, they are powered by external sources.
The two crawler-transporters were added to the National Register of Historic Places on January 21, 2000.

A mobile launcher platform (MLP), also known as mobile launch platform, is a structure used to support a large multistage space vehicle which is assembled (stacked) vertically in an integration facility (e.g. the Vehicle Assembly Building) and then transported by a crawler-transporter (CT) to a launch pad. This becomes the support structure for launch.
The use of mobile launcher platform is a part of the Integrate-Transfer-Launch (ITL) system, which involves vertical assembly, transport, and launch of rockets. The concept was first implemented in the 1960s for the United States Air Force's Titan III rocket, and it was later used by NASA for Saturn V, Space shuttle, and Space Launch System.
There are alternatives to ITL. Horizontal assembly and transport to the pad is used by Russia, by ULA for the Delta IV family, and by SpaceX for the Falcon 9 family. Vertical assembly on the launch pad is used for smaller launch vehicles and for the SpaceX Starship.

NASA?? Challenger shuttle heads to Launch Pad 39A at Kennedy Space Center, Florida, in November 1982.
The space shuttle program ran for 30 years and pioneered many aspects of spaceflight today. Astronauts practiced experiment-driven missions, focusing on science- and health-oriented tasks in space. Crews perfected the techniques of spacewalks, which they used to repair satellites, including the Hubble Space Telescope, and to literally build the ISS. And the space shuttle taught NASA how to operate a program for a long period of time, laying the foundation for the space station's current 20 years of human operations.
Features include:
Large cargo bay with functional bay doors, featuring an Orbital Docking System, Canadarm, and satellite.
Separating Solid Rocket Boosters (SRBs)
Separating External Tank (ET)
Canadarm robotic arm (SRMS -Shuttle Remote Manipulator System) which was responsible for cargo, astronauts, hull examination, and the deployment and capture of satellites
Functional wing flaps/elevons, body flap, and split tail rudder
Same scale as the Saturn V (Approx 1:111)
Over half a meter tall, this Space Shuttle is in scale to the Saturn V, and would make the perfect companion piece.
Please share and let others know about this project to make this a reality that you can bring home and build!
Got the inspiration from the customer,we believe many people have the Space dreams. Do you ?

The Space Shuttle is a retired, partially reusable low Earth orbital spacecraft system operated from 1981 to 2011 by the U.S. National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) as part of the Space Shuttle program. Its official program name was Space Transportation System (STS), taken from a 1969 plan for a system of reusable spacecraft where it was the only item funded for development.
The first (STS-1) of four orbital test flights occurred in 1981, leading to operational flights (STS-5) beginning in 1982. Five complete Space Shuttle orbiter vehicles were built and flown on a total of 135 missions from 1981 to 2011. They launched from the Kennedy Space Center (KSC) in Florida. Operational missions launched numerous satellites, interplanetary probes, and the Hubble Space Telescope (HST), conducted science experiments in orbit, participated in the Shuttle-Mir program with Russia, and participated in the construction and servicing of the International Space Station (ISS). The Space Shuttle fleet's total mission time was 1,323 days.
Build your Space Shuttle to the same scale as the Saturn V! It's a perfect tribute to the iconic Space Shuttle.
Prepare your nano-fig crew on the two decks and launch the Orbiter into space using the Main Engines and Boosters!
Experience the realism as you separate the Boosters and External Tank, just like the real thing!
Embark on exciting spacewalks using the Canadarm and deploy payloads with precision!
Connect with the International Space Station (ISS not included) using the Orbital Docking System!
Safely guide your Shuttle back to Earth by adjusting the moving flaps (elevons) and tail rudder!
Activate the landing gear and tail rudder speed brake for a smooth touchdown!
Congratulations! You have successfully completed your first space mission, and now proudly display your Shuttle on the included stand!
This incredible build combines playability and displayability, making it a must-have for space enthusiasts. Get ready to embark on an unforgettable journey into the depths of space with your very own Space Shuttle!
The Space Shuttle is the most complex machine ever built. Both a true marvel of engineering and a workhorse, it is one of the most storied and unique space-faring vehicles to date. With over 135 missions, it was humanity?? first reusable spacecraft, and brought hundreds of astronauts, scientists, and researchers to space.
It was fundamental in deploying, repairing, and recovering countless research and communication satellites, and allowed crews to conduct invaluable experiments and research that have changed the world as we know it. It was responsible for deploying the Great Observatories: Hubble Space Telescope, Chandra X-Ray Observatory, and the Compton Gamma Ray Observatory, and for deploying the interplanetary probes, Magellan to study Venus, Galileo to study Jupiter, and Ulysses to study the Sun.
It was essential in the construction of the International Space Station, allowing humans to have a continuous presence in space for almost 20 years and counting!
