Recycled PET While PET (polyethylene terephthalate) is still plastic it is incredibly recyclable. We hope to see the production of plastic come to an end but in the meantime we can help to reduce the consumption of natural resources by making use of recycled materials; reduce, reuse, recycle. That's why we decided to turn it into beautiful products for you! First synthesised in the 1940s PET was popularised for its strong, lightweight nature, which likewise is true of RPET (Recycled PET). When broken down, your old bottles and food containers can be turned into clothing, accessories – and of course beautiful shoes! – making it as easy on your conscience as on your skin. Organic CottonOrganic cotton is grown without harmful chemicals and it uses around 46% less water when compared to conventional cotton, protecting the ecosystem, reducing wastage of water and ensuring a safer working environment for the farmers and manufacturers. Did you know that conventional cotton cultivation is the culprit in the use of one quarter of the insecticides all over the world? And if we add the production process of fiber they account together for 10% of our planet’s total pollution? And did you know that conventional cotton cultivation is one of the main water consumers? The ethical alternative is the use of organic cotton. No chemicals or synthetics are used in the cultivation and production process and the water used for growing the plant is only rain water. Thus, this fabric becomes completely natural, sustainable and biodegradable. The cotton which we work with has its origins in Brazil, it is coloring agent and toxic free, it is hypoallergenic and ideal for people with skin problems and who suffer from multiple chemical sensitivity (MCS). |
