The adapter allows you to install filter-absorbing boxes (FPK) from gas masks PMK-2, PMK-3 into civilian gas masks GP-5, GP-7, Nerekhta and other models with a threaded connection.

Simply put, the adapter is designed to convert bayonet-type filters into threaded ones.
