complete, original "Flesh and the Devil" / "Es War" German Movie Promotional Program from 1930. The film stars Greta Garbo, John Gilbert and Lars Hanson and was directed by Clarence Brown. The front has a tipped on flyer promoting the screening of the film on June 24, 1930 at the "Harmonie" movie theatre in Hamburg's Wandsbek district. Text is in German detailing the plot; the director; actors and the book's author. This was the first film that Garbo and Gilbert made together. MGM released "Flesh and
the Devil" in late 1926, an adaptation of the novel "Es War"/ "The Undying Past" by Hermann Sudermann,
about the romantic triangle between 2 soldiers, long term
friends and the woman that came between them. Wonderful
full page illustrations on the front and back covers. Photos
throughout from the film and of its actors with photogravure images.
