This antique brass ash pail with a wrought iron rod bent handle is a true piece of American history. The pail was made by H.W. Hayden's Ansonia CT Brass Co. and is stamped on the base with the maker's mark. It dates back to the mid-19th century, circa 1851-1860, before the US Civil War.

The brass body has a naturally aged patina that adds to its antique charm. The iron rod handle is hand forged and swings freely. This primitive ash bucket has not been chemically polished or cleaned and there are no repairs, old or new. This is a unique and valuable collectible that is perfect for any metalware or brass collector.
