Description: Gorgeous dress has skirt with lining with pleated ruffles around top sides. Top has sleeves with tight pleated ruffles from wrist to elbow, then fabric poufs out to shoulders. There are also pleated ruffles around bodice and has crocheted lace pieces sewn on in places. This piece is also lined and has hook and eye hooks down back with tie at waist.
This looks like the top hooks up the back and tucks in and 3rd piece is cumberbund to go around waist. The last piece is either a neck decor with lace or possibly a garter?
Fabric of dress is offwhite and looks and feels like silk, but I am not a fabric expert. The lining may be linen or stiffer silk or cotton? The fabric is still intact, the lining is breaking and disintigrating especially near hem of skirt in places.
Approx Measurements: Skirt is 44" long, with 25" waist and approx 35" hips. Top has 34" chest, 14 1/2" shoulder to shoulder, 24" long in front and 16" in back, top of shoulder to wrist is 25" and underarm to wrist is 18" with top of sleeve poufing and bunching up so it would be a little shorter in length on, waist/hips on top about 35". Cumberbund is 23 1/2 x 3", neckband or garter is 13 x 1 3/4".
Excellent original early family and/or town genealogy, history, antique, collectible heirloom and/or ephemera.
