Myler Medium English Dee D Ring with Hooks MB 09 Level 1 Snaffle Bit 5.75 Wide

This is a brand new withut original tags Level 1 Myler Toklat stainless steel 3-3/4 inch "Medium D" Dee ring bit with hooks and a stainless steel MB 09 smooth snaffle mouthpiece that measures 5.75 inches wide with 3/8 inch diameter bars shaped in a pronounced curve to promote comfortable swallowing and inlaid copper on the bars to encourage salivation.  This mouthpiece is a stainless steel snaffle Myler Level 1 bit with zero leverage.  The MB 09 is a more comfortable Myler version of the traditional single-jointed mouthpiece.  Although it lacks the benefits of a "true" Myler mouthpiece, it has a distinctive curve, so the bars of the bit wrap around the horse’s bar and lips, which makes the bit more comfortable.  Popular with riders who are more comfortable with a traditional design. The dee with hooks is a stainless steel "D" shaped ring with fixed attachment of the mouthpiece, as well as slots ("hooks") at the top and bottom of the ring for bridle and rein attachment.  Both the top bridle slot and bottom rein slot on the standard and medium dee will fit standard ⅝" bridle leather.  The hooks make this a much more versatile version of the dee without hooks.   Attaching the headstall to the top hook holds the bit in the correct position instead of allowing it to slide around the bridle cheek pieces.  Attaching the reins to the rein hooks allows the rider to lift the cheek and use the Independent Side Movement™ of the mouthpiece.  Using the hooks does not add leverage but allows the rider to transition from a direct rein action to indirect action without changing the bit.  The MB 09 is NOT legal for USEF dressage, FEI dressage and USEA eventing dressage.  Consult your organization's rule book for more information.
