Selling a collectable plate. Plate is embellished with a fairy wing border decorated with 22-karat gold, numbered 12261C and is entitled 'Petal Playmates' by Lena Liu and is issue 2 in the enchanting floral portraits Lena Liu's Flower Fairies. There are several tiny fairies hidden in the picture - can you find them?
Born in Taiwan in 1951, Lena Liu remains one of the most popular artists of the Collector Plate market. She was painting at an early age in Taiwan and later graduated from the School of Architecture and Design in New York. Lena Liu’s special skill follows the ancient and demanding Oriental technique of watercolor painted directly on silk. She hand grinds many of her water colors and her unique style is “distinguished by freedom of movement, subtlety of color, and a quality of tranquility”.
