1823 antique STORE LEDGER nantucket ma apple gin flaxseed molasses tobacco 110pg
This listing is for the the really nice and clean historical ledger journal book. Massachusetts names. Measures approx 7.75"x12.5". Approx 110 pages. Hand-bound cardstock cover. Excellent penmanship.
I was told this was from Nantucket, but I do not see that town name in this journal. HOWEVER, most, if not all of the names I have looked up through ancestry, are from Massachusetts. So maybe someone knew something at some time.
We do not know the name of the store or owner.
Lots of interesting entries: butchering pig, cutting 2 pr trousers for boys, pepper and spice, corn tea wood tobacco oats hay in old barn, gill of rum, knives & forks, salts, tuttons, tobacco, black bulls, making shoes, coffee, rumand so much more.
Great for history, and even arts and crafts, altered art, mixed media.
But the condition is so good, and great town and genealogy history.
Some of the names include: Isaac Stevens, Isaac Gross, James Morrow, John Thomas, Ezekiel Warren, Joseph Raynes, william Burns, Moses Smith, Joseph Johnson, caleb Haskell, Robert Bailey, William Pierce, Obadiah Whitman
Excellent original early family and/or town genealogy, history, antique, collectible heirloom and/or ephemera.
CONDITION: Impressive. Nice and clean. See listing description and photos.
