Yoko Ono Autograph and
John Lennon Photo Invitation Hand Signed by Bob Gruen

Lot of Three (3) Collectibles

Item Number #1 - Original Personalized Yoko Ono Autograph on Business Card, obtained by the original owner, Optometrist, Dr. Robert M. Mintz, O.D.

Dr. Mintz was attending the 69th Street, N.Y. Armory’s 100th Anniversary Art Show on Sunday March 10, 2013.

He was at the Armory Cafe having a croissant and coffee when he saw Yoko, and a male companion at the next table. Yoko had a bold grey hat on and was sporting oversized Ray Ban Sunglasses.

Dr. Mintz walked over and introduced himself and told Yoko that he was honored to meet a living icon.

He complimented her on her sunglasses and told her that as an Optometrist, he always enjoyed her choice of sunglasses and remembered her wearing a brand called Gargoyles in the 1970's.

Yoko thanked him, and then asked, "What do you want?”  Dr. Mintz asked her if she would be gracious and give him an autograph.

The only piece of paper available was the back of his Business Card; She wrote, “To Robert From Yoko 2013”.

Included is a pic of the Armory on that Day.  From what I understand, Yoko did not give many autographs???  Let alone personalize and date.  It was done with a Parker T-Ball Jotter ballpoint pen.

Item Number #2: Photo of Armory on the day of Yoko's autograph to Dr. Mintz

Item Number #3:  Original Invitation to the Opening of Bob Gruen's "Sometime in New York City" Hand Signed by Bob Gruen

This is a book-fold invitation displaying a photo of John Lennon on front and when opened has a photo of John with Yoko with the invitation details for the opening of Bob Gruen's book.

Bob Gruen was John Lennon's and Yoko's personal photographer in John's New York years from 1971 until and after his death.

Back in February of 1995 Gruen was promoting his new book, “Sometime in New York City” featuring many iconic pictures of Lennon and Yoko.

One of the pictures included in his book is the "I Love New York” which was taken of John Lennon while leaning on a wall at Central Park West, probably across from the Dakota, where he lived and in front of which, the place he was shot and killed.  This is the same picture seen on front of the invitation.

The inside of the invitation bears a later 1970's photo of John and Yoko, probably during John's, father and “Mr. Mom” period with Sean his second son, and only child with Yoko.

This autographed invitation was obtained by Dr. Robert M. Mintz, at a Beatles Convention, held at the Northeast Radisson Hotel, Route 1, Trevose, Pa. In 1995.  Lauren Kane, Esq. was the Convention Organizer.

Dr. Mintz was a vendor of the John Lennon Eyewear Collection at the convention and was given the autograph by Bob Gruen in person who happened to be at this convention as well.

This comes in a wood frame, ready to hang.

Bob Gruen was just featured in a television documentary honoring John Lennon on what would have been his 80th Birthday October of 2020.

These two autographed pieces (the autographed business card and invitation) have a tie-in and commonality with Yoko and Bob Gruen.

Wow! Almost two decades elapsed between Bob Gruen's autograph and when Dr. Mintz obtained Yoko's autograph.

A MUST FOR ANY SERIOUS BEATLE COLLECTOR.
