This is something I don't get to grab often (if ever). This is wood block mold on a stand/base. On top of the mold is a layer of felt fabric then a knitted t-shirt fabric on top of that, tied with a rope/string. Measures approx 11" high and the base measures approx 9.5" x 12". Heat measures approx 7" x 7". Circumference is about 24" over padded area. About 21.5" around wood block underneath.

The fabric is soiled and worn, the wood base is lightened with age.

This is a really amazing primitive folk art piece to display hats but really to shape hats.

Wonderful millinery store or hat collector piece.

The base removes easily from the top head, and can be reassembled.

somewhat of a mannequin head in folk art form. perhaps this was a hat in progress?
