St. Catherine of Sienna – 8.5x11" – Carlo Dolci – Catholic Art Print – Archival Quality

We are in love with this image of Catherine of Sienna. She was a medieval nun whose persuasive words and clarity of thought moved thousands to join the cause of Christ and convinced the Pope to return to Rome from Avignon.Author of a great theological work, Dialogue, she has been declared a Doctor of the Church. She died in 1380, at the age of thirty-three.Carlo Dolci was an Italian painter of the Baroque period. He once stated his “firm intention to paint only works that would inspire the fruits of Christian piety in those who saw them.” He specialized in devotional works, and his works were extremely sought after during his lifetime. We have extensively restored this masterpiece to make it new. It's by the same artist who did the Blue Madonna in our shop. Carlo Dolci, 1616 –1686, Florence.
