NETTIE ROSENSTEIN STERLING HALLMARKED ESTATE PENDANT
Nettie ROSENSTEIN was probably one of the most famous jewelry designers in the USA.(1892-1980) . Winner of Coty and Neiman Marcus awards.
Her label is highly sought after by individuals and collectors looking for statement pieces which are both distinctive and superbly executed. This deco/neo modern sterling pendant has a timeless and elegant appeal.
Though at least 80 years old it still commands attention. Most of Rosenstein’s other pieces are intricate. The bold but simple stylistic shape of this piece is reminiscent of Saturn. Hence uncommon and probably rarer in the Rosenstein line. Mrs. Eisenhower was a big collector.
It is probably a Deco motif but is transcendental in design. It is heavy, sterling 2 1/4” wide and 1 1/2" top to bottom. It weighs an impressive 12.4 Grams.
The sphere has a hole in top and tiny at bottom, maybe to put in a hint of perfume. The bale is perfect and the piece appears to have minimal/faint wear.
The Nettie ROSENSTEIN HALLMARK and sterling stamp are clearly seen on the reverse bottom. The hallmark is encased in the classic ROSENSTEIN rectangle box.
