This is a vintage Milk or Dairy Bottle embossed, "5 cent - One Quart Liquid - N.C. Approved - North Carolina - 5 cent Deposit" on the front, "5 Cent Deposit" on the back; "MTC" and " 1-B-11" on the base; and "E and "45" on the bottom. The MTC mark indicates that the bottle was produced by Thatcher Glass Manufacturing Company of Elmira, NY between 1923 and 1954. The bottom of the bottle markings likely mean the bottle was produced at their Elmira plant in 1945. Its interesting that the bottle indicates that the milk was from a North Carolina dairy, but not a particular dairy or location within the state. The bottle is in gorgeous shape, free of cracks or breaks.
The bottle clarity is very good and embossing is sharp. The antique milk bottle measures about 9.75" x 4".
