About The Record:

Let's Get Away From It All, performed by Patti Page, is a thematic album that takes the listener on a musical tour of the world. The pop vocalist travels via song to Mexico, France, Italy, Ireland, and several spots in the United States. The songs appear in no particular order, from Mississippi to Mexico to New Orleans to Paris. The bright big-band orchestration sweeps her along from Autumn in Rome to Route 66 to April in Paris before Page finally declares that The Whole World Is Singing My Song. The musical selections are mostly pop and jazz standards all presented in the same swinging fashion, with Page crooning or belting it out as the moment requires. Let's Get Away From It All is notable for being Page's first album to be released in stereo.
