A vintage Hopi Sanface Kachina. Hand carved from cottonwood, adorned with leather, fur and feathers details. Artist signed on bottom (Sun Face, LARGO). Symbolizing the sun's warmth and bringing hope of shelter for the elderly and a promising future for the young, the Sunface Kachina holds significant cultural importance in Hopi tradition. It also represents the essential role of the sun in fostering the growth of crops. While it remains in good condition, it bears some signs of age, with visible fur and feathers loss around the face. Please see photos. Thanks for looking!
