For your consideration, here is a Vintage Apsco 3003 De Luxe Desk Stapler, made in  Sweden.  It takes standard size staples.  The stapler has a little wear and tarnish on it.  The spring is still strong.  It has been tested and works great.  There is a photo of a test stapling.  It measures 5 inches long.  This is a nice heavy duty model that was built to last.  There are a few staples loaded in it.
