LM3915 DIY VU Meter Kit Parts, v4.0:

This is a revised and improved version of the LM3915 Audio Level Indicator (VU Meter).  The Circuit and PCB are custom designed and tested to offer a better quality and response in comparison to other kits that maybe for sale anywhere else.  The PCB v4.0 is a smaller-size revision as compared to v3.0 and the circuit components on v4.0 have been revised to provide a higher audio signal sensitivity and response.  As a DIY Kit, it will require assembly and soldering; however, we have designed the PCB for easy component placement and soldering.

The improved and revised smaller-size PCB v4.0 includes the following features:

  • Custom Made PCB Design with smaller-size (v4.0).
  • Improved Audio Response by utilizing a Pre-Amp.
  • Improved Audio Response/Sensitivity by utilizing Schottky diodes.
  • Better Dual Mode (Bargraph or Dot) Visualization.
  • Bargraph or Dot Mode is switch selectable.
  • Added DMCH (Dot Mode Capacitor Holder) for better response when in Dot Mode.
  • DMCH is switch selectable (On or Off).
  • Better Control over total current-sinking by the LM3915.
  • Power Diode added to avoid reverse-voltage burning/damage.
  • Mountable PCB by Four-Corner holes.
  • Easy pluggable Power and Audio Cables (provided as shown in images).
  • Audio Signal Input Sensitivity can by adjusted by the BLUE Trimpot (VR1).
