This gorgeous, hand painted, brown bird & floral design glazed ceramic trinket hexagonal box hails from Tonala, a city within the Guadalajara Metropolitan Area in the state of Jalisco in Mexico. Dating back to the 1970s, it is true Mexican Folk Art Pottery. Features a hand painted design featuring a brown bird, butterfly and floral pattern, with colorful tones typical of the Tonala Pottery of this era. Decorated in brown colors, embellished with overglaze white dots/accents, on an off grey/blue background.
It is in EXCELLENT CONDITION ~ No nicks, chips, cracks, flea bites or damage. There may be some small natural flaws and imperfections, which is one of the things that makes each piece so unique.
Measures approx. 4 1/2" tall (with lid) x 5" across the widest area.
