MARVEL TALES #5 Near Mint- 9.2 beautiful white pages. Exceptional square spine structure. Newstand quality color gloss on front cover with near perfect corners. The bright and glossy cover surface is solid black and shiny as well as practically unblemished by any stress or wear across its entire expanse to the right margin. Corners are sharp and all intact, and near perfectly- defined right angles. Edges are straight and nicely-defined around the book, with no tears or chips out of the margins. Tight binding on this compact comic with its internal staples silver and bright and clean. The comic is flat and smooth, with no spine roll or upturn. The inside covers are white and clean with no stains, smudges, or discoloration. The back cover is off-white with some superficial surface wear as seen in the photo; however, that "normal waviness due to glue application" adjecent to the spine area, which occurred during the original manufacturing process back in the day 1967, is not generally considered a defect or as wear over time since this feature was associated with the original production process, a ripple effect commonly associated with squarebound (glue-bound) comic books from that era.
