2002 2 euro coin Greece ( S ) - UNC - rare + strike error
2 euro coin strike error causing restriction between inner and outer coin.
Also rare ( S ) star struck - Its rarity is not the letter ( S ) but a low mintage with this letter minted with an error estimated at around 15,000.
This is the last batch of coins minted in this mint. Most likely, the mistake was due to the haste during the creation of the whole party.
Obverse:
On the left the numeral: 2, on the right horizontal inscription: EURO on the background of a map of Europe with clearly marked boundaries of the countries of the Euro zone in 1999 against a background of six vertical lines ending in stars. Below the letter "O" are the initials: LL.
Reverse:
In the centre of the core, the mythological Europe rides to the right on Zeus in the form of a bull, below horizontally the numeral: 2 and the inscription: ΕΥΡΩ (euro). At the top left arc, the inscription: ΕΥΡΩΠΗ (Europe), to the right of the figure an acanthus leaf, to the left of the bull the initials: ΓΣ. Around the ring of 12 five-pointed stars, the lowest star splits the year: 20 - 02.
Side: Serrated with the inscription: * ΕΛΛΗΝΙΚΗ ΔΗΜΟΚΡΑΤΙΑ (Hellenic Republic).
