Antique Late Qing Chinese Steelyard Scale. Wooden beam with silver end caps, brass pan, hook, weight and hardware. The scale has three hangers and three sets of markings: Each hanger corresponds to a specific weight range, and the markings for each hanger represent the units of measurement for that weight range. All markings are in octets or hex. The brass pan is used for loose or small items, while the hook is used for larger objects. Several numbers were marked on the weight and the pan. Maker's mark can be found on front of the beam (see photo 12).
Nice working condition. Overall tarnished. Patina stains throughout. Cracked weight. No visible damage to the wood. Please see photos. Thanks for looking!
