This CPU has been stored for over two decades.  Cleaned, tested, and heat sealed into an airtight, anti-static pouch. The pins are protected by an anti-static foam square. 

I've been putting systems like this together since the 90's and work to preserve known good parts like this one.  

It is one of many items from a computer store that closed in 2003 and has been carefully stored since then.
