For your consideration is an antique Smith Corona Sterling portable manual typewriter and original carrying case. This model has the floating shift. Serial number 4A277511 dates this to 1947. This model was in production from 1945 to 1949. The history of this typewriter is: My mother purchased this while a senior in high school, traveled with her to college and typed all her college papers on it, then as an adult she typed letters and forms for school since she was a teacher. I later learned how to type on this typewriter. It wasn't until 1968 that another typewriter was purchased that my mother used, and I was allowed to use this typewriter to type all my school projects. It works great, and is pretty clean. Really a work horse typewriter. If you plan on using this typewriter you will need a new ribbon as the ink has dried. You can see where it types fine, but it is really light. It has the original carrying case. You can type with the case on it, remove the lid, or take the typewriter out completely. Beautiful antique typewriter.
