Both items are working fine, and have been tested opens most jars that can fit inside the unit. Rubber grippers must be kept dry so that the unit can grip the tops and open the jars. Put the jar in, slide the handle down and push the button and your jar is opened.
These units are great for family members with arthritis that do a lot of home cooking. I'm living with one now.... :)
