She's playing a fiddle and he's dancing to her tune! This great set of figural lamps are quite a metaphor for life and they also work very well. There's not a break or crack anywhere on either of these lamps, Their body's are in truly fine condition. However, their lampshades are a bit disfigured. We can't exactly say what the mauve material is made from. They are a combination of some type of celluloid material that makes up their bodies and they are trimmed with a material lacing and satin ribbon with all of those materials being stretched around wire frames that then comprise the lampshades. The shades have a wire clip that clip's directly onto the bulbs. The bottom's are a heavily patina'd solid brass.
Wiring - Prior to our acquiring of these lamps, it seems obvious that they have been rewired by somebody at some point. In addition, one of the light sockets has been replaced and one seems to be original to the piece. And although they both work, as seen in the pictures, we imply no guarantee regarding the wiring or the fixtures themselves, except that they work in their current condition.
Age, because of the wrapped brass stems that the wire runs through is indicative of other lamps made in this time frame it's safe to assume that they're from the 20's-30's. These two are a set of amazing survivors for sure!
