Knocker is attached to the wood and has been used as display / decor item. But if needed, it can be attached to the door and used as a knocker. It feels as a good quality, solid piece. Wood piece measures approximately 8-1/2" x 5-1/4". The base of the knocker is about 3-1/2" in diameter, ring is also about 3-1/2" in diameter.

Shows age and wear, knocker has some spots and scratches.
