The Republic P-47 Thunderbolt was heaviest single engine Fighter/Bomber of WW2 with four .50 cal. machine guns in each wing. The devastating fire power was like hitting something with a 1000 lb hammer. The P-47 Thunderbolt ran shotgun for the allied bombers and fought off the Nazi interceptors. On their way home they were let loose to destroy anything they could find on the ground. What a job they did. This DVD has the most complete films and newsreels available. Strap in and Enjoy. 1st Film: "Thunderbolts". 1944, this film was about the 11th USAAF in Italy. A day in the life of the men who fought, lived, and died in the P-47 Thunderbolt. This documentary is introduced by a famous Actor James Stewart, who he himself was a bomber pilot and eventually retired as General in the USAF. This is a great movie and well worth watching. Color, Runtime 42:08 Min's 2nd Film: "P-47 Aerobatics". This film is about the How to Fly aerobatics in a P-47 Thunderbolt. This film shows how to do rolls, loops, stalls etc. Amazing to see this Plane fly and perform these maneuvers. Great film and beautiful footage. B/W Runtime 20:16 Min's 3rd Film: "P-47, "Ramrod to Emden". This film show how the Republic P-47 Thunderbolt crews start their days and the returning of a days work covering for the B-17 Bombers.
