Vintage Bennington Rockingham Blue & White Pottery Ball Jug Pitcher Embossed Fox Hunt England

This jug features beautiful craftmanship, with a highly detailed relief scene of the fox hunt in merry ol' England.

On the body of the jug, the front has an image of the hunt master with his top hat and whip. The backside has men on horses and their hounds leading the way. Around the base, are the dogs leading the chase with the dates 1775 and 1894. The handle is sculpted as the fox!

The jug was coated in a white glaze. Cobalt blue glaze was applied to the spout, the fox handle, and the base. The Blue fades into the white with flecks of the cobalt blue splattered on the white.

On the underside of the base, it is marked "ROCKINGHAM" in the mold.

Measures approx. 7 7/8" H x 6 3/4" W x 5 1/2" D.

EXCELLENT CONDITION ~ No nicks, chips, cracks, flea bites, or damage.
