Our Uptight Troops in Europe, By Leonard Gross: Col. Martin 'Tiger Howell sits at his desk and worries, with much to worry about. The outfit he commands, the 14th Armored Cavalry Regiment, is stationed in the West German area likely to be the first hit should the Other Side attack. Yet Tiger Howell would sleep soundly if this were the only problem, because he must also cope with the strain of racial cold war among his own troops. Snowball and knife fights and charges of an on-post KKK klavern are just part of it. For Howell's attempt to handle the situation, see Our Uptight Troops in Europe. Photographed by Phillip Harrington.

C. Day, Lorenz, Fradon, Porges, E. Arno.
Just for Laughs ... The Gingerbread House Caper, By Will Stanton.
