This is a medium-sized solitary cactus that closely resembles the Parodia haselbergii and is also from southern Brazil. The yellow flowers are what make this cactus distinguishable and beautiful.
Details:
- Flowers: Small yellow, up to 2.5 cm long and 2 cm wide and each can last one to three weeks. The petals spread upward rather than outward and are not close together, which allows the stamens to be visible. The flowers grow as tubes that are relatively long and features some clusters of bristles and some wool.
- Blooming season: It flowers at the end of the winter or in early spring for a long period of time. This cactus can bloom for about two months! It will start flowering when it is about 5cm in diameter.
