This publication is essentially a "Consumer's Report" for American hunting rifles contemporary to 1885. They tested  34 different models including Marlin, Ballard, Remington, Winchester, Bullard, Whitney, Stevens, Maynard, Wesson, Colt, Springfield, Sharps, Bland, Merrill, and Romer). Illustrated throughout and includes the 'Tabulated Summary of Trajectory Results" fold-out in the rear.
