DESCRIPTION: This egg cup is something of a mystery. According to a huge online china replacement service, this pattern was discontinued before 1900, making it very old - and yet this cup is in pristine condition with no chips or crazing. It is rare to find an egg cup this age in this condition.
The color of this cup is ecru or cream, and there is an embossed design of swags and bows on the outside. The design on the inside is a colorful fruit arrangement inside a wreath. Pictures of the pattern show that it was produced on plain blanks and, as in this case, on blanks with an embossed swag design. The decal was placed on the inside if there was embossing on the outside, and some variations had black floral borders.
SIZE: This cup is about 3 1/8" wide and is 3 1/2" tall.
