Offered here is this Antique Wall Artwork Hanging Hook. It is made to hang artworks or mirrors from a picture rail installed on a wall and was typical and common in the 19th and early 20th Centuries. This method was used primarily in homes that would have plaster, or brick walls, and was a way of hanging art or mirrors on the wall without having to drill into the wall. The hook has hand crafted stitching and detail on it, but this detail is quite worn and missing in several spots. I am unsure of the age of the hook. It is 2.5” top to bottom, 2” in diameter, 1” front to back, 1.5” including the hook. It is a nice antique decorative collectible piece.
