The Children’s Country

Kay Burdekin

New York: Morrow, 1929

Hardcover in publisher’s original green cloth stamped in orange with pictorial label. 8 vo. 262 pages.

Fine copy with color plates by Beth Karen’s Morris.

Original dust jacket with chipping to spine ends and shallow chipping to the top edge of the rear jacket panel. Jacket flaps are tender with splitting and cello take to verso of the rear flap fold. Interior is crisp with a narrow triangular piece lacking at bottom edge not affecting text. This is most likely from the binder when the paper was cut and bound into signatures.

Beautiful copy of this wonderful children’s book that is right up there in imagination with any children’s classic. It is quite rare to encounter this book in this condition and with a dust jacket. This jacket is enclosed in a Mylar cover fir protection and preservation from damage.
