Lorraine Laubender (1921-2011): Lorraine Laubender, was born in 1921 was a California artist based in Thousand Oaks north of Los Angeles. She was most active from the 1970s though the late 1990s. Lorraine worked in a variety of media including oil, acrylic, charcoal, pencil and pastel. In terms of subject matter she was adept with landscapes and portraits but most often created still life pieces, sometimes combining them with portraits as seen here. Her art is gaining in popularity as her exposure expands, with more pieces are seen entering the market.
