Antique Real Photo Postcard, circa pre-1920. Depicting a gentleman wearing a Sons of (Union) Veterans uniform. The individual and the photographer are not stated. Divided back, unused. Condition: This is an original photo postcard, not a copy or reproduction. It has a bent upper right corner tip, and a stain along a portion of the bottom edge. Comments: The man in this photograph is wearing a Sons of Veterans (later, changed to Sons of Union Veterans) uniform. The “S V” on his cap reflects this, as do the Sons of Veterans membership badge (that is depicted on the viewer’s left) and the Past Camp Commander badge. The Sons of Union Veterans is a fraternal organization comprised of male descendants of Union Civil War veterans. It is the legal heir to the Grand Army of the Republic, whose members were Union Civil War veterans.
